Rockville, MD.  Apatoff | Peters, LLC announced today the addition of John C. Huggins as a Member of the firm.

Mr. Huggins earned his BBA in Finance from Howard University.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Huggins worked in several management positions in the insurance and banking industries, most notably at Aetna and Connecticut Bank and Trust, an affiliate of Fleet Financial.

After receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, Mr. Huggins was an associate in the corporate departments of Wiggin & Dana (New Haven, Connecticut) and Halloran & Sage (Hartford, Connecticut).   Mr. Huggins also worked as an attorney-consultant to The Hartford Insurance Group managing complex, multijurisdiction mass tort claims on behalf of one of the nation’s largest insurers.  More recently, he was an associate in the Washington, DC office of Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky & Popeo.

Mr. Huggins is counsel to Executive Leadership Council, a unique, individual membership organization representing the most senior African-American corporate executives in Fortune 500 companies. Its membership consists of nearly 400 executives, one-third of them women, representing more than 200 companies.   At Apatoff | Peters, Mr. Huggins will work on corporate, technology and estate planning matters, and expand the firm’s service to non-profit organizations and emerging companies and businesses.  His addition as a Member of the firm expands one of the fastest growing and well-regarded technology transaction and tax practices in the DC-area.
